Warm Woollens

Warm, cosy, tactile and versatile... Wool ticks many boxes and it has done so for many centuries.

Wool is the name for a textile fibre obtained from sheep and certain other animals, like cashmere from goats and angora from rabbits. What makes Wool a miracle textile is it numerous qualities. It is, amongst many things, resistant to sunlight, fire and dirt and is hypoallergenic – making wool a fantastic choice for use in upholstery.

The shape of Wool fibres means that it has a greater bulk than other textiles and holds in air which causes the fabric to retain heat, making it nice a cosy in the winter. But don’t worry, Wool also helps to keep you cool in the warmer months too.

Using wool in the home is a great design choice; it softens designs and makes spaces feel more inviting. Just look below for a few ideas on how you could bring some woollen warmth into your home. We particularly like the Manhattan Sofa in Bainbridge Wool – so much so that we decided to feature it in our Christmas Advert this year. We think the strong shape of the Manhattan is really softened by the Tartan Wool; as a whole the sofa can bring a real modern rustic feel to a room.
