Delve into a botanical paradise this summer with furniture upholstered in leafy prints and bold shades of green.

Create contrast by placing a plush velvet sofa next to a chrome side table or floor lamp.

Creating a feeling of freshness, light and airiness is key, so complement a white and off-white palette with materials such as wood, linen, bamboo and textured ceramics.

Plants

An easy way to introduce the botanical look into your home is to use botanical art; prints of fern leaves, vintage botanical school posters and printed wallpaper.

If you are not so keen on using prints and patterns to evoke a botanical flavour, you can instead fill your space with an abundance of luscious green plants.

Fern Prints

The popularity of succulent plants has grown signifcantly in the last few years. Suited for both modern and traditional decors, cacti and succulents are a great choice for adding that botanical feel to an interior.

Succulants are also notoriously easy to look after; some would say almost indestructible! Make sure they have bright, direct light and you allow the soil to dry between waterings, being careful not to over-water. They are best potted into fast draining mixtures and only need fertilizing during the summer growing season.

So what are you waiting for, start planting!
